Former The Only Way Is Essex star, Mario Falcone, has taken to Instagram to reveal that he has officially donated his hair to The Little Princess Trust to be made into wigs for children suffering from hair loss due to cancer treatment.
The reality star had been growing his hair long especially for the donation and shared a video of himself having his locks chopped off alongside a photo of himself with his official donation certificate last night.
However, Mario is not the only celeb to have shown such generosity, so we thought we’d look back at some other stars to cut off their hair for the greater good.
Mario cut off his hair for The Little Princess Trust last night, but he’s not the only one:
One Direction star Harry Styles has always been famed for his long mane of hair, and last year he shocked us all when he took to Instagram to share a photo of his lopped off hair as he held his thumb up. The caption simply read: ‘Whoops. #LittlePrincessTrust”, donating the hair to the same charity as Mario.
In 2013, singer Jessie J had her head shaved on live TV for Comic Relief, raising thousands of pounds for the charity and donating her hair to The Little Princess Trust – win/ win.
Popular vlogger and West End star, Carrie Fletcher, was renowned for her gorgeous long, blonde hair, but when she finished her stint as Eponine in Les Miserables, Carrie had 17 inches cut off and donated it to The Little Princess Trust, also raising a staggering £13,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital in the process.
Actress Shailene Woodley was emotional when she had her hair chopped off to play the role of cancer patient Hazel Lancaster in The Fault In Our Stars, however, she made good of the situation by donating the hair to Children With Hair Loss, according to E! News.
Actress Amanda Seyfried kept her donation pretty low-key but back in July 2015 she shared a snap of her dog with her hair draped on his head like a wig, revealing that she had donated the tresses to Locks of Love.
Another star to keep his donation low-key; actor Russell Crowe reportedly donated the ponytail he grew for a film role to Locks Of Love back in 2008.
Justin Bieber did donate his hair to charity but not quite in the same way as his fellow celebs, instead selling a lock of his hair on eBay for a humongous $40,000 and donating the proceeds to animal rescue charity The Gentle Barn.
